James Cameron has offered Indian moviemakers the chance to use the special 3D technology which made "Avatar" a worldwide hit. The director's epic blockbuster smashed box-office records when it was released last year and has since grossed more than $2.7 billion.
And during a speech at the Innovation and Knowledge (INK) Conference in Lavasa, India on Friday, December 10, Cameron vowed to help up-and-coming directors in the country. The star promised to allow Indian filmmakers to use the 3D equipment if they wanted to release a blockbuster, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He said, "If there is an Indian director who'd like to make a film - it could be about the Ramayana or the Mahabharata - we can offer the technology we've already developed, the 3D system and the digital 3D Fusion Camera."
