Taylor Swift Had Pizza as Her Birthday Cake

Taylor Swift celebrated her 21st birthday on Monday, December 13 in bizarre style - she had pizza as a "birthday cake" and partied to Pink songs on her own. The country star was recently pictured arm-in-arm with latest love Jake Gyllenhaal, but it seems the movie hunk was unable to join her early celebrations on Sunday night - so she munched on junk food with pals instead.

Two friends visited Swift with party hats and a pizza topped with candles, but the star was later left to dance around to her favorite Pink songs on her own. Taking to her Twitter.com blog, she writes,
"Tonight caitlinbird and elizabethhuett knocked on my door - they brought a pizza with a lit 21 candle on it and bday hats. :) Now I'm dancing around my room alone to pink's greatest hits cd."

Lady GaGa and Taylor Swift Are Billboard's Artists of the Year

From becoming a hot newbie, Lady GaGa has now taken home the title of Artist of the Year. Handed Rising Star Award at Billboard's Women In Music Awards in 2009 and named Top New Artist at the end of the year, the outlandish singer made a move from "new" to "top" only in a year.

She is the only artist who made the fast move since Chris Brown snatched both titles concurrently in 2006. She followed the footsteps of fellow singer Whitney Houston who was named Top New Artist in 1985 and then switched to Artist of the Year the following year.

GaGa received the honor due to the success of her two albums "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster" which both broke the Top 5 of weekly Billboard Hot 200. Additionally, the effort was ranked at No. 4 and 13 respectively in the year-end albums list, and four of her singles appear in Hot 100 Songs roundup with "Bad Romance" leading at No. 8.

Following GaGa as No. 2 Artist of the Year is none other than young country music beauty Taylor Swift. The Big Machine artist has two albums "Fearless" and "Speak Now" on the Top 10 of the year-end Billboard 200 list. The 2009 best-selling album is sitting at No. 7, while record breaker "Speak Now" is securing the ninth place.

Now that GaGa is no longer the Top New Artist, Billboard gives the title to Ke$ha. Her dance track "Tik Tok", which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the weekly Hot 100 chart, is named Song of the Year, leading the year-end list of Hot 100 Songs roundup.

2010 Top Artists list:
  1. Lady GaGa
  2. Taylor Swift
  3. Eminem
  4. Lady Antebellum
  5. Ke$ha
  6. Usher
  7. Black Eyed Peas
  8. Justin Bieber
  9. Rihanna
  10. Drake

Taylor Swift Refuses to Edit Songs About Ex-Boyfriends

Despite controversies surrounding her songs especially the ones which talk about her ex-boyfriend, Taylor Swift never wants to censor them or change the lyrics. When writing lyrics about her former flames, she pretends no one will ever hear her songs because if she took their feelings into consideration, she would have to edit her work "down to nothing."

And by doing so, Swift never worries about what the men or other people will think of her confessions. "I started writing songs with the idea that no one would ever hear them - and that's how I continue to write. If I considered (everyone's) opinions, I would edit songs down to nothing. Writing from the place 'I can say whatever I want because all I'm doing is telling the truth and no one is going to hear this anyway', you tend to be more honest," she said in a magazine interview.

Taylor Swift has frequently become talk of the town for penning autobiographical songs which lead speculation about her love life. Those tracks give reference to her former love interests including Taylor Lautner, John Mayer and Joe Jonas, but the singer who is currently linked to Jake Gyllenhaal never specifically confirmed it other than admitting that they're indeed based on her personal experiences.

Taylor Swift Is EW's Youngest-Ever Entertainer of the Year

For winning prizes from some awards shows in 2010 and breaking record with "Speak Now" which sold 1,047,000 units in just a week, Taylor Swift has been crowned as Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly. At 20 years old, the country music singer is officially the youngest star who gets the title.

The "Innocent" singer is thus picked to grace the cover of the magazine's latest issue, posing in a magician-like outfit. To the publication, Taylor shares how she feels when people speculate about the subjects of the songs she write.

"Sometimes I would laugh because I would see it in print and it would say, 'This song, which is written about her ex, so-and-so...' And they would write about it as if it was fact. The fact is, I haven't ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person. There's something kind of freeing about that. As far as I'm concerned, it's all still up in the air," she says.

And Taylor believes that there is nothing wrong with writing a song about someone's life, stating "Nothing is off-limits as far as writing. You can't have parts of your life you don't write about." But when she is quizzed about her outings with Jake Gyllenhaal which pictures recently hit tabloid, she diplomatically answers, "I write in great detail about my personal life, but I don't talk about it."

Also named Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year after Taylor are James Franco, Jon Hamm, Katy Perry, Kanye West, the kids of "Modern Family" and the "Glee" gang. Other names which make the list can be seen on the latest issue of the magazine which is published on December 3.

Photos of Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal's Holiday Outing Hit Tabloid

Taylor Swift is serious about her romance with Jake Gyllenhaal - the country sweetheart bonded with his actress sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and her daughter Ramona while staying with her family in New York over the Thanksgiving holiday. The singer was first linked to the "Brokeback Mountain" hunk in October, although they have yet to confirm the relationship and have both dodged questions about their love lives during various interviews.

But their secret is no more - paparazzi snaps of the new couple cuddling and laughing during a stroll in Brooklyn last week have been splashed across the cover and inside pages of America's Us Weekly magazine. The pictures were taken after a trip to a coffee shop in Maggie Gyllenhaal's Park Slope neighborhood on the morning of Thanksgiving, November 25.

Insiders claim Swift's New York visit was a last-minute one - and her decision to ditch her family holiday celebrations in favor of spending time with Gyllenhaal wasn't popular with her mum and dad. A source says, "Jake invited her to New York. It wasn't planned in advance, but she said, 'Why not?' I can do it, and I'm going.' Her parents weren't thrilled, but she explained to them that she gets to see them all the time and wasn't able to spend much time with Jake during the publicity madness."

And Swift, 20, appears to have won over Jake's sister Maggie after helping to prepare the Thanksgiving feast: "Taylor fit right in... She pitched in to cook and clear the dishes. She also seemed very interested in the family and asked them a lot of questions about themselves." The "Love Story" singer even joined Maggie to take four-year-old Ramona for a walk after the meal - and it's their close family ties which have brought Swift and Jake, 29, closer together.

The insider adds, "They are both very family-oriented. Taylor is really into kids and loves Ramona. (Swift and Maggie) just looked like two friends and a child." The couple then flew to Swift's adopted hometown of Nashville, Tennessee to spend time with her family, and her relatives were equally as smitten with the actor: "They loved him and thought he was very polite."

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal Have Coffee Date Again in Nashville

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal keep going on outings together though they won't address the nature of their relationship. On Tuesday, November 30, the rumored lovers were once again spotted in the 20-year-old singer's hometown of Nashville, Tennesse after seen in the city last weekend.

This time, Taylor and Jake were photographed when stopping by the Frothy Monkey, TMZ reports. The couple reportedly was also in the coffeehouse on Sunday and a source tells the site that they "looked like they were more than friends." Meanwhile, another source tells People, "Apparently Jake likes a cappuccino with maple syrup. Frothy has the real deal in the maple syrup department."

Previously when hitting Fido near Vanderbilt University and Music Row on Saturday, November 27, a customer gushed that they were "very cute" and "seemed close." Another eyewitness added, "They were not trying to be discreet by any means. They were definitely a couple. They looked very happy."

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were first romantically linked after they reportedly had a stroll together in Brooklyn, New York in late October. An onlooker said they were walking around Park Slope holding hands at that time.

Taylor Swift Loves Having Conversations With Herself

Taylor Swift is enjoying living alone for the first time, as she is able to talk to herself without fear of embarrassment. The 20 year old singer has moved out of her parents' home and into her own apartment in Nashville, Tennessee.

And the "Love Story" hitmaker admits she can indulge her quirky side now she is home alone. She tells U.S. TV host Chelsea Handler, "Living alone you can do so many fantastic things. You can walk around and have conversations with yourself and like, sing your thoughts... I think I'm the only one who does that."

During the same interview, Swift also teased Handler of her reported romance with 50 Cent. Swift said, "They say anybody since 50 Cent in 2005, yeah. I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, I think you're a big fan of 50 Cent." Handler replied jokingly, "I'm not familiar with his music."

Taylor Swift Spotted With Jake Gyllenhaal on Thanksgiving

While it is common that people spend their Thanksgiving with their family, Taylor Swift reportedly enjoyed the special day with her rumored lover Jake Gyllenhaal. According to Just Jared, the two were spotted together in Brooklyn, New York.

Sources told the site that Taylor and Jake stopped by the Gorilla Coffee shop in Park Slope on Thursday, November 25. One eyewitness said, "They asked one of the coffee shop employees for help picking out beans. They both seemed super nice and wound up ordering lattes." The site also mentioned that Jake's sister Maggie Gyllenhaal lives nearby.

Still, Taylor seemingly didn't spend the whole day of Thanksgiving with Jake as she wrote on her Twitter page about her family meeting. The "Back to December" crooner tweeted, "Why, at my family gatherings, do we always have to end up youtubing funny cat videos."

Kanye West Threw Rant at Taylor Swift During Album Release Party

Although he has repeatedly apologized for what he did at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West is still not done yet with Taylor Swift. The rapper attacked the country music singer once again when taking the stage of Bowery Ballroom on November 23 to celebrate the release of his new album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy".

Starting his tantrum at the release party by saying that "everybody needs a villain," Kanye continued, "When you do things like what happened last year, it's disrespectful to everyone that's creative. It's a smack in the face to everyone who tries to do something real. If I wasn't drunk I would have been on stage longer! Am I the only one that's not crazy here? Are you f**king kidding me?"

When talking about his issue with George Bush, Kanye linked it to his feud with Swift. "Taylor never came to my defense in any interview, and rode the waves and rode it and rode it, that's the way I rode the waves of the Bush comment. I rode it. It's not about popular opinion. It's about when you look in your heart, and know what's right and what's wrong," he stated.

He might realize some people put on questioning looks during his rant as he said, "I'm not here to talk in no motherf**king interviews, nobody asking me no stupid a** questions." The MC went on to addressing the latest interview in which he lost his cool, "Matt Lauer's not a bad guy, I'm sure. But if you are a child that is being abused by your parent or you're a girl being abused by your boyfriend, the greatest win that you can ever have is for that person to hit you in public. 'You see? You see? I told you!' "

In between those outspoken speeches, Kanye did not forget the main goal of his appearance at the party. He hyped up his new album, saying in a confident tone "I always felt like I could do anything, but now I feel so fearless - after the year I had ... to come back and do 100,000 on the first day, digital alone... to do 600,000 in the first week... and I don't talk about the numbers. But what that number says is that people want me to keep making music."

Dane Cook Gives Musical Tribute to Taylor Swift

Known for writing songs about her old flames, Taylor Swift has now gotten the taste of having someone writing track about her. During her appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday night, November 22, Taylor got a surprise serenade from Dane Cook.

"I'm a huge fan of yours. America's sweetheart right here," Dane told the show's host Jay Leno. The "My Best Friend's Girl" actor later shared that he had prepared a musical number for Taylor, saying "You're tremendous and talented so I thought I would do something as a memorable moment for you tonight."

Dane first took off his shirt in front of the audience, revealing a tattoo of Taylor's face and name on his chest and leaving the "Back to December" crooner open-mouthed. With Jay quipping, "This is stalker territory here," Dane then grabbed a guitar and began singing to Taylor.

"Taylor Swift, you're a gift. Give me a lift to your heart, beating inside my chest, I did my best. Download it now," Dane sang. "Now back to you, Taylor Swift, stand up girl, take a bow. Show us that smile, don't be shy, I hope her fans encourage her now. Come on everybody! We love you Taylor, Taylor, Taylor Swift!"

Taylor got up and took a bow as the audience applauded Dane. After the performance, Taylor, who will celebrate her 21st birthday on December 13, gave the funnyman a big hug.

The first to win that night was Usher. He was called out by Heidi Klum to accept Favorite Soul/R&B Album after beating the other nominees Alicia Keys and Sade.

Next, there was John Legend coming onto the stage with Jenny McCarthy. They handed Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group to Black Eyed Peas. The four-piece won the coveted prize over Lady Antebellum and Train. Later, this group returned to the stage to perform their new single "This Time (Dirty Bit)".

Shakira won Favorite Latin Artist, beating Daddy Yankee and Enrique Iglesias. After that, trio Taio Cruz, Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj teamed up to announce Favorite Female Soul/R&B Artist, and the winner was Rihanna who won the award over Alicia Keys and Sade.

2010 AMAs: Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift Deliver Mellow Performances

The winners list of 2010 American Music Awards might be dominated by male artists like Justin Bieber, Eminem and Usher, but the stage of the event itself saw a lot of female performers. Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift were two of them.

Wearing black outfit, both of the young stars catered audience flocking to the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with ballad tracks which built melancholy mood. Miley offered "Forgiveness and Love" in the middle of candle-lit stage, and Taylor went "Back to December" and flew above the stage behind a piano before being lowered to a winter-themed set.

The other musical guests included Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas and Usher. Ditching any somber tone, all three of them run the Nokia Theater like a club as they rose the tempo with "We R Who We R", "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" respectively.

Miley Cyrus:

2010 AMAs' Red Carpet: Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and More

It was a blinging night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California as a number of stars hit the red carpet of the 38th American Music Awards. From Miley Cyrus to Rihanna, all stole attention with their dazzling outfits. Putting her rock style aside, Miley showed up at the Sunday, November 21 event in a short white dress with a very long train.

Beside posing solo, Miley also struck a pose with Kelly Osbourne who was dressed in a strapless black dress, peep-toe heels, and rocker-chic rings and had a bouffant hairstyle. As for Rihanna, although the Barbadian stayed true to her red locks, she had voluminous spiral curls that night. Rihanna matched her red hair with a scarlet long sleeve gown with subtle floral detailing from the Fall/Winter 2010 Ellie Saab Haute Couture collection.

Tapped to perform at the prize-giving event, Taylor Swift was almost unrecognizable with her long straight hair. Taylor, who was up for Favorite Female Artist in Country Music category, opted a sexy sequined mini-dress, Jimmy Choo heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Another nominee that night, Katy Perry, worked her way down the red carpet in a bright strapless mini-dress. The wife of Russell Brand was also tapped to perform that night.

Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie, tended to press duties on the red carpet in a Falguni & Shane sequined mini with feathered shoulders and a black clutch. Leona Lewis kept it classy in a stunning black outfit by Vivienne Westwood and a ring by Robert Anthony.
