Paramount Pictures has debuted the first teaser poster for another movie adaptation of Marvel character, "Thor". The shadowy image, which makes its way out via Yahoo! Movies, is dominated in black which is in contrast with Thor's red cloak. Captured from his side, the banished warrior of Asgard is featured holding his hammer Mjolnir.
The first official trailer for the movie is promised to be premiered on Friday evening, December 10. Previously, a trailer for the movie was screened at Comic Con this July and the bootleg version hit the web few days later.
"Thor" tells the story of The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Chris Hemsworth leads as the titular character, joined by Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston who portray Thor's father Odin, Thor's love interest Jane Foster and his nemesis Loki respectively. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the action adventure film will grace theaters across the nation next summer on May 6, 2011.
