Dr. Drew Believes Miley Cyrus Needs Help

Celebrity drug counselor Dr. Drew Pinsky has urged Miley Cyrus to seek professional help following her bong-smoking scandal - insisting she's "acting out" following the breakdown of her parents' marriage.

The 18-year-old "Hannah Montana star sparked outrage on Friday, December 10 after film footage of her smoking a huge pipe, allegedly containing the legal high Salvia, was posted on TMZ.com. She was subsequently slammed by anti-drugs groups for being a bad role model to her impressionable fans and now "Celebrity Rehab" host Pinsky has branded Cyrus a "child in trouble" and urges her to seek medical help.

He tells Access Hollywood, "We know that she's going to be acting out now because her family's in trouble, so it's not unusual to see depression manifesting as various kinds of acting out behaviors. "Adolescents don't get depressed the way adults do. They don't get sad and cry and withdraw. They often act out and become irritable, they act out with drugs and get in trouble and she seems to be suffering."

"If I had a child that was doing that or if I was advising a parent, I would say get professional help immediately. This cat is out of the bag. This is a child who is in trouble and who is suffering and this is her way of trying to manage that. Get professional help."

The singer's parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, filed for divorce in October.

Miley Cyrus Condemned for Smoking Bong

Miley Cyrus has come under fire from anti-drugs campaigners, who have criticized the teenage star after she was caught on camera allegedly smoking a hallucinogenic legal high. A video of the Hannah Montana singer/actress puffing on a bong emerged online on Friday, December 10, much to the dismay of her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, who insisted he was saddened by the footage.

The 18 year old, who is shown giggling and babbling incoherently in the film, is said to have been smoking controversial but legal psychoactive plant Salvia, and experts are already stepping forward to condemn Cyrus' actions.

Former California State Assemblyman, Anthony Adams, who attempted to have the substance banned in the state back in 2007, is adamant the young star is setting a bad example.

He tells TMZ.com, "You do incredibly crazy things (under the influence of Salvia). Miley is a star and young kids are going to emulate her behavior. It's time for state and federal governments to renew their push toward an outright ban (of this substance)."

A spokesperson for America's Drug Enforcement Administration adds, "Salvia is a drug of concern. We are taking steps to look further into it..."

Unfazed by Bong Video, Miley Cyrus Shows Up at Sunday Game

While her father took it hard, Miley Cyrus appears indifferent to the latest scandal that hit her. A video of the 18-year-old smoking from a bong hit the internet over the weekend and Billy Ray Cyrus said he's "sorry' and "sad", adding he doesn't have much control about that.

Miley, however, was in a good spirit when she showed up on the set of her movie, "So Undercover", hours after the video was posted on TMZ. Sources said Miley was all professional in the rehearsals, running through script lines with co-star Kelly Osbourne. Filming is not scheduled to begin until later this week in Louisiana, but Miley "kept her focus on the movie."

On Sunday, December 12, Miley resurfaced at New Orleans Saints game against St. Louis Rams at Superdome. She got the chance to meet the Saints' coach Sean Payton while there.

Miley has not released any statement regarding the allegation that she smoked Salvia in the bong. Her father's statement remains the only official confirmation that the tape was indeed of the Disney star.

Billy Ray Says 'Sorry' for Miley Cyrus' Bong Smoking Tape

Miley Cyrus' bong-smoking tape has been around for hours and she is yet to respond to the situation. But Billy Ray Cyrus has taken action, apologizing on behalf of his daughter via Twitter. "Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. I'm so sad. There is much beyond my control right now," the older Cyrus said.

Miley enjoyed getting high with some of her friends, smoking from a huge pipe allegedly containing a controversial but legal substance Salvia. While it's legal in California, Salvia is banned in Delaware in 2006 following the suicide of teenager Brett Chidester whose parents believe the substance played a significant factor in his death.

Her female friend held a video cam which captured Miley giggling uncontrollably and babbling incoherently. Miley mistook someone for her on-off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. "Oh I'm gonna lose it now... I'm going. Having a little bit of a bad trip! Is that a f**king Liam lookalike or what the hell is that? Is that my boyfriend? Is that my boyfriend? Oh my God, he looks so much like Liam!" She said at one point, "Is it me tripping? Is it me tripping?".

The video was allegedly shot at her home near Los Angeles, California, five days before she turned 18 on November 23. A source told TMZ which acquired the video, "Someone stole or copied the video from that friend's camera."

Miley said previously that she was planning a "fun" birthday party her friends and family only. Her parents Billy Ray and Tish are going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage.

Miley Cyrus Talks to Lawyers Over Fake Nude Picture

Soon after a raunchy picture of a woman claimed as Miley Cyrus' came out, people from her camp quickly deny it and they are now "in touch with lawyers and considering action," GossipCop reported. Beside relying on the statement from Miley's camp, the site also mentioned some evidences that the photo is indeed fake.

Miley has a tattoo read "Just Breathe" under her left breast, and the woman in question doesn't have it. The other things that further question the racy picture is that the woman's face is not shown in the image and also she is skinnier than the Disney star.

The rumor of Miley's nude picture hit the web along with a story that her iPhone was stolen. The photo was reported to be taken in a sexting session during her brief stay at the Westin Palace hotel following the recent MTV Video Music Awards.

Miley Cyrus Had Dinner With Liam Hemsworth on Her Birthday

After having new rumored lover Avan Jogia at her pre-birthday bash, Miley Cyrus was reportedly accompanied by her old flame, Liam Hemsworth, when she officially turned 18 on Tuesday, November 23. According to X17 Online, Miley and Liam spent Tuesday night together at sushi restaurant Matsuda in the San Fernando Valley.

Miley and Liam allegedly had a casual dinner with a group of friends. Of the gathering, a source told the site, "Miley was relaxed and having fun and of course there was a connection between her and Liam. They dated for so long and were so serious it's like they can't deny their special relationship with each other."

Though so, Miley and Liam managed to avoid being photographed together. While the Australian heartthrob left the restaurant through the back door, the "LOL: Laughing Out Loud" actress and her pals met the paparazzi outside the venue to distract them.

Despite the dinner, there has been no word on whether or not Miley and Liam are back together. Following their second split earlier this month, Miley has been romantically linked to Avan. The two were recently photographed engaged in a heavy make-out session. Liam himself was also spotted getting cozy with model Yolanda Vendy at a nightclub in Melbourne.

2010 AMAs: Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift Deliver Mellow Performances

The winners list of 2010 American Music Awards might be dominated by male artists like Justin Bieber, Eminem and Usher, but the stage of the event itself saw a lot of female performers. Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift were two of them.

Wearing black outfit, both of the young stars catered audience flocking to the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with ballad tracks which built melancholy mood. Miley offered "Forgiveness and Love" in the middle of candle-lit stage, and Taylor went "Back to December" and flew above the stage behind a piano before being lowered to a winter-themed set.

The other musical guests included Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas and Usher. Ditching any somber tone, all three of them run the Nokia Theater like a club as they rose the tempo with "We R Who We R", "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" respectively.
