Lindsay Lohan Drops Tweet During One Day Off From Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has dropped her first tweet since she was sent to facility center the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California in late October. The "Mean Girls" star posted the tweet following Thanksgiving Day.

"RT @TomCruise: RT @KimmieC88: @TomCruise Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around. Sofia~Vanilla Sky. LOVE this quote!" Lindsay posted. Minutes later, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton responded, "@lindsaylohan Welcome back!"

Lindsay has been ordered to remain in the sober-living house until January 3, 2011 for violating her probation stemming from her DUI arrests in 2007 by failing her court-ordered drug tests. According to TMZ, Lindsay was granted a one-day pass from the rehab to celebrate Thanksgiving with her estranged dad Michael Lohan.

Lindsay will remain free for about 15 hours. The site mentioned that Lindsay left the facility on Thursday morning, November 25 and has to be back by late that night. A bunch of friends as well as Michael were said coming to dinner to celebrate the special day with Lindsay.

Lindsay Lohan Allowed to Leave Rehab and Spend Thanksgiving at Home

Lindsay Lohan has something to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day, November 25 - she has been allowed to leave rehab and spend the holiday with her family. The "Mean Girls" star is currently undergoing court-ordered treatment at California's Betty Ford Clinic and has been told to remain at the center until January 2011 in a bid to get sober.

But officials have granted the actress permission to leave the Palm Springs facility on Thursday so she can drive to Los Angeles to celebrate Thanksgiving with her loved ones. Her warring parents Dina and Michael, are expected to put aside their differences as their daughter comes home for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, reports TMZ.com.

Like Lindsay Lohan, Demi Lovato who is currently in rehab for "emotional issues" will also spend the holiday with her family. Earlier this month, a spokesperson for her said she will remain in the facility but her parents will come to visit her there.

Lindsay Lohan Permitted to Get Back on the Road

Lindsay Lohan has been granted permission to get back on the road - she has won the right to drive again from Los Angeles probation officials and doctors in charge of her rehab program. The "Mean Girls" star, who has been in and out of jail and rehab this year, is currently serving a three-month stint at the Betty Ford Clinic in Palm Springs, California after violating her probation by failing two mandatory drug tests in September.

She completed the first phase of her treatment earlier this month and was moved to a 'sober house', where she can make supervised day trips.

And now she can get behind the wheel of a car again after her driving ban was reversed on Monday, November 22, reports TMZ.

Confirmed, Lindsay Lohan Replaced by Malin Akerman in Porn Star Biopic

Even a big name could not help Lindsay Lohan to secure her movie role. After the star is ordered to stay in a rehab facility until at least early 2011, filmmakers of "Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story" have decided to let her go and hire another actress.

Lohan was supposed to portray porn star Linda Lovelace in the biopic. But since the start date is getting closer and she is still struggling with her legal problem, the filmmakers have cast Malin Akerman to replace Lohan.

"Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion - and hers," producer Chris Hanley says as quoted by People. "For herself and her career in general it was really her decision to just focus on getting better psychologically."

On the "Watchmen" beauty who is now booked to portray the late "Deep Throat" star, Hanley gushes, "Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task and we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge."

When Lohan was ordered to attend alcohol education program earlier this year, the filmmakers insisted on waiting for her and planned to resume production of the movie in mid November after she completed her court mandated stint. However, the 24-year-old beauty is now undergoing another court-ordered treatment for substance abuse problems and is expected to remain in the facility until January 3.

Additionally, a source tells Deadline Hollywood that Lohan is dropped because she is "impossible to insure and the producers loved Malin."
