Maybelline Volum’ Express The Magnum Mascara Review

 

 

Hmm… I’ve been walking by this bright yellow mascara by Maybelline and each time I’ve felt a pull towards it’s electric yellow packaging. I do enjoy Maybelline’s volumizing mascaras and they usually work well.  Based on past experience plus the fact that there wasn’t any Fairy Drops Mascara in sight, I bought this mascara in a huff and I kinda regret it!

Review:-

Maybelline Volum’Express The Magnum Masacara BRUSH:

- The rather straight mascara wand doesnt provide much lift to lashes 

- The long and rather fat wand always leaves mascara stains on skin near my lashes

Maybelline Volum’Express The Magnum Masacara FORMULA:

- The formula is rather wet. I do not like wet mascaras because they are messy  upon application & drying and it’s such a hassle to wait for them to dry

Maybelline Volum’Express The Magnum Masacara RESULTS:

-Lashes look fuller but they tend to droop at the edges after 10-15 minutes of application

-Fresh from application, lashes can look rather nice and thick but they soon get heavy and get clumpy especially at tip of lashes ( resulting in droopy lash tips- eww )

-Takes many coats to get the desired lash volume

- Price wise, it cost a little less than my fairy drops mascara I think.

I would pay a little more to purchase my all time favorite Fairy Drops Mascara that gives volume and lift to my lashes in way fewer coats without the droopy or clumpy action.

My verdict is pretty simple : I should never buy mascaras on impulse and based on looks!! The magnum is a pretty big let down for me in terms of performance and the price point. It isn’t the cheapest mascara that Maybelline carries and the packaging is so fun but the clumpy\droopy action and wet formula is a big turn off for me.

 

The Body Shop- Hi Shine Lip Treatment

 

I am really loving this Hi Shine Lip Treatment by The Body Shop.

It’s not sticky, runny or messy. It feels like a lip balm and gloss mixed in one and the color payoff is very pretty. Very true to the color in the tube, even on my darker tone lips. This lip color complements a soft smokey eye pretty nicely :)

Lips aside I’ve been busy practicing my rusty makeup skills and the inspiration for this was from BlueBell Beauty Blog. She’s got crazy blending skills and her eye makeup is to die for, so here are two looks that inspired by here.

I have no idea why purple always ends up looking like black on my lids. Dark blue seems to have the same resulting effect..

4 Years With Mr Blovet!

OMG. I forgot my 4th year wedding anniversary with Mr Blovet ( as Blair affectionately coined it) and the worse part was that my hubby didn’t & got me something lovely:)

I got married on the 10th July 2006 to my teenage sweetheart and I’ve never looked back.

He’s usually terrible at keeping secrets and yesterday was the first time that he actually managed to keep shut about his little gift! Omg.. He asked me strangely at around 11pm to get him something from our bedside cupboard and I was actually thinking “ why in the world can’t you get it yourself when you are just next to it (Lazy dude)?” So I waddle over and I open the cupboard door, completely unsuspecting and there it was, the prettiest Prada paper bag I have seen & in it was a solid black wallet !!!

I look at him and all he said was: “ I just wanted you to have something nice for yourself … you deserve it…”

             … ahhh… It’s times like these I become an absolute mush ball….

 
Now I  really  need to think up a plan on how to surprise him big time to make up for this !! Hehe … Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend too:)
